About this site
English spelling is weird. "Accommodate" has two c's and two m's. "Occurrence" has two c's and two r's but only one o at the start. "Wednesday" has a silent d that nobody pronounces. You can know a word for years and still second-guess yourself every time you type it.
LearnHowToSpell is a free spelling reference. You look up a word, get the correct spelling and a memory trick, see the common misspellings people make, and then drill it. That last part is the whole point. Reading the right spelling once? Doesn't stick. But typing it out three or four times, getting corrected when you're wrong, seeing exactly which letters you swapped? That sticks.
How it works
Pick a word. You get the spelling, pronunciation, definitions, and a mnemonic. Below that is the game. You hear the word, you type it. Wrong? It shows you exactly what you missed. Right? On to the next one. Twenty seconds, tops.
Who made this
I'm Jake. I kept googling "how to spell accommodate." Like, embarrassingly often. So I built the site I wished existed. It started as a personal list of words I got wrong, grew into a practice tool because just reading the answer never fixed anything for me, and then I kept going because it turns out a lot of people misspell the same words I do.
